Faithful to compliance with the Charter of Fundamental Human Rights and in accordance with the provisions of the Regional Government of Extremadura (Junta de Extremadura), through the Extremadura Agency for International Development Cooperation (AEXCID) and the rest of the social agents involved in this area, the intention was to promote an Action Plan that concentrates the efforts on facilitating the reception of refugees, and especially those coming from the humanitarian crisis related to the conflict in Syria. In this sense, the Regional Government of Extremadura (Junta de Extremadura), has already launched a line of cooperation with the Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid (CEAR) to assist people displaced by this conflict. These are the following type activities and actions performed:
Receiving students in university residences or at private home
Providing scholarships to university students, teachers and researchers
Supporting and attention services to students, teachers and researchers who are refugees in our university
Providing linguistic training in spanish that allows their integration in our country. For example: training courses in spanish
Providing legal, sanitary, psychological advice services to social services;
Placing the countries in conflict as priority in matters of cooperation;
Prospecting possible jobs that may be employed by refugees in our region;
Participating in punctual volunteer actions at the demand of the collective.
