DESCRIPTION AND METHODOLOGIES

The Buddy Program aims at accompanying international students from the very first moment, regarding the preparation and organization of the trip, and facilitating their integration process in the University of Aveiro, the city and the region.

This distance support and orientation is provided by older students, based on the principles of voluntary work, in close articulation with the institution. Each new student is automatically assigned one Buddy-older student.

This is an initiative promoted by the University of Aveiro through the UA_Intercultural in close partnership with the Erasmus Student Network -Aveiro (ESN), the Academic Association of the University of Aveiro (AAUAv) and the Association of Brazilians of the University of Aveiro (ABRA).

It should be noted that the Buddy Program and the Mentoring Program are complementary and work sequentially, not replacing or overlapping, focusing on different subjects and working in different moments.
