DESCRIPTION AND METHODOLOGIES

The University of Aveiro (UA) provides its international academic community with a Local Support Centre for the Integration of Migrants (CLAIM). Its main objectives are to offer institutional support, to promote the integration and creation of conditions so that reception in Portugal will be as smooth as possible for all those who study, research or work in the UA (migrants and refugees).

This centre also aims at minimizing any difficulties that may arise in settling into a new life in Portugal by offering specialised support provided by skilled professionals, in areas such as education, access to public services, accommodation, day-to-day issues, among many others.

The CLAIM centre in the UA is the result of a partnership with the High Commission for Migration (ACM).
