Introduction

This Module aims at providing background information on international protection, in particular in the European Union, and on social inclusion. It contains concepts, and information on the legal framework governing asylum, both at international level and EU level. The Module also focuses on the concept of social inclusion, as well as on the social inclusion of refugees and the relationship between social inclusion and higher education.
