DESCRIPTION AND METHODOLOGIES
Introduction
Universities cannot remain indifferent to the drama of refugees
we have attended in recent years. Therefore, in addition to the individual implications
of the members of the university community, the university as
institution must make its human potential, resources and knowledge available
of the affected people in order to improve their living conditions.
Echoing this responsibility, the Conference of Rectors of Universities
Spanish (CRUE) meeting in General Assembly on September 7, 2015 agreed:
• Facilitate access for refugee students who are university students
in your home country.
• Facilitate collaboration with Spanish universities, of refugees who
are university professors in their country of origin.
• Promote volunteer activities among students, in collaboration with
other administrations and agents, especially in those disciplines more
directly related to this social drama. For its part, the University of the Basque Country / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV / EHU)
by means of a resolution adopted unanimously in the Governing Council of October 1
of 2015, committed to carrying out different actions for the care of refugees in the
Basque Autonomous Community (CAV). As reflected in Figure 1, these actions
They are framed in four lines of action:
