In addition to governmental and municipal integration activities, mentoring programmes and integration with the support of your own peer group are especially relevant.
The MAV projects supports and qualifies volunteers to serve as mentors for migrants supporting them in their professional and social integration. Successful volunteering needs qualification and training.
“MAV – Multidimensional training of adult volunteers to foster migrants’ integration” trains and motivates migrant volunteers and others acting as mentors for other migrants. Participants will assume a very active role during the program sharing their knowledge, experience, ideas and questions related to the topic.MAV project products will be guidelines for trainers, an online training package for volunteers and tools for communication and motivation.

RESULTS AND IMPACT
The MAV Guide for Trainers introduces the methodology and approach of MAV. For the development of the guideline experts were interviewed in all project countries. They all have been working for a long time in the areas of volunteering and integration of immigrants. In addition, successful examples of good practice from the areas of volunteering and integration were collected in all partner countries. These successful examples can be transferred to other countries and are presented in the appendix of the MAV Guide.
Courses for migrants and trainers were also developed. Migrant volunteers can help and accompany other migrants to better integrate into their host society. In this course you will learn how this process works and what is means to be a mentor. The course covers important issues such as language learning, motivation and starting a small business. Trainers, learn how they may introduce migrants to the principles and values of volunteering and mentoring.
