DESCRIPTION AND METHODOLOGIES

The objective of the University of Sanctuary Bursary is to encourage and enable international protection applicants, or those already granted international protection who are required to pay tuition fees and/or cannot access student finance, to participate and succeed in higher education.
The University of Sanctuary Bursary provides financial support through bursaries to first-time higher education applicants who identify as a refugee, asylum seeker or a person in a refugee-like situation as defined by the UNHCR 1951 Refugee Convention.
Successful applicants for the Sanctuary Undergraduate Bursary at the University of Limerick are eligible for:
a) Tuition Fee Waiver - Successful students will be offered a fee-remitted (i.e. no fees) place at the University
b) Subsistence Payments - In addition, depending on individual circumstances, financial support may be provided for successful applicants that do not have other means of subsistence.
