Description

The Multiplier Event in Greece took place on the 7th of December 2021, at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki. 36 persons participated and interacted with each other during the Multiplier Event. More specifically:

· 25 postgraduate students, attending the Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Migration Studies of the University of Macedonia (locals)

· 2 postgraduate students, attending the Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Migration Studies of the University of Macedonia (third-country nationals)

· 1 PhD student, University of Macedonia (third-country national)

·  1 NGO worker, (third-country national / refugee)

· 3 policy advisors/researchers

· 2 University Professors

· 2 team members of the Greek partners of the TOGETHER Project.

The Multiplier Event included a series of lectures, presentations, and interactive discussions that finally led to testing and evaluating the Intellectual Outputs of the TOGETHER Project.

Dr. Theodosis Karvounarakis, Professor and Director of the Master Programme in Human Rights and Migration Studies, University of Macedonia introduced participants to the topic “Migration, Refugees and World History”, elaborating on historical continuity and recent developments in the issues of migration and forced migration.

Dr. Paraskevi Naskou-Perraki, Professor, University of Macedonia delivered a speech on “the International Protection of Human Rights: An Introduction to the International Refugee Protection”. Participants had the chance to comprehend how international protection of the rights of refugees became a pillar of contemporary “rule of law” and “legal culture” at the international and national levels.

Stefanos Katsoulis, Director of Thessaloniki Youth Club for UNESCO (TOGETHER Project partner) presented thoroughly TOGETHER’s aims and objectives, Intellectual Outputs, results and impact.

Evangelia Dedousi, Team member of Thessaloniki Youth Club for UNESCO (TOGETHER Project partner) discussed with the participants about the challenges, perspectives and good practices regarding the access of refugees to Higher Education.

A Q&A Session followed afterwards, while the participants had the opportunity to interact, test and evaluate the Project outcomes. The Multiplier Event ended after some final concluding remarks.
